This policy explains what Qiatan Island ("Qiatan", "we") collects when you use qiatan.fyi, why we collect it, and what control you have over it. Qiatan Island is operated by [OPERATOR LEGAL NAME], [OPERATOR ADDRESS]. You can reach us at [CONTACT EMAIL].
When you create an account we store your email address, your chosen username, and a hashed password. We never store your password in readable form. If you sign in with Google instead, we receive and store your email address, your name, and your Google account identifier — we do not receive your Google password.
We store the games you play, their results, your statistics, any custom maps you create, the cosmetic items you have unlocked, and your friend connections. Completed games are archived so that recap pages and shareable result cards keep working.
Our servers record standard request logs, which include your IP address and browser user agent. These are used to operate the service, diagnose faults, and prevent abuse.
We use PostHog to understand how people move through the site — which pages are visited, where new players get stuck, and which links bring people here. This is product analytics, not advertising: we do not sell this data, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in (it expires after seven days), and a preference cookie to remember your chosen language. Analytics cookies are set by PostHog as described above. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
Some information is public by design. Your username, avatar, statistics and unlocked cosmetics appear on your public profile and may appear on the leaderboard. Custom maps you choose to publish are visible to everyone, along with your username as their author. Game recap pages can be viewed by anyone who has the link. Your email address is never shown publicly.
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers needed to run Qiatan:

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days. Completed game records may be retained in anonymised form so that other players' match histories stay intact. Server logs are retained for a short operational period and then discarded.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the GDPR gives you the right to access a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, and receive it in a portable format. You can exercise any of these by contacting [CONTACT EMAIL]. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Our legal basis for processing is the performance of our contract with you (running your account and your games), our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and improving it, and your consent where required for analytics.
Qiatan is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
If we make a material change to this policy we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, notify you by email.
